Each March is deemed National Nutrition Month by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, a time to focus on health and nutrition. I always take this opportunity to encourage folks to bring back the basics of healthy eating and 1-2 habits they can realistically sustain. 

Sometimes the discussion about food and nutrition goes straight to the nutrients. What are the benefits for our body? What is it good for? Or in some cases, what are the detrimental effects in our body?

Growing up my grandma would frequently give this response when we asked for something to drink, “You’re in luck, we have Nature’s Punch!” She made it sound so exciting that as kids we loved asking for Nature’s Punch on hot summer days in Florida.
